This is absolutely fascinating (to me, anyway). It's the results of a lot of surveys about language use and regional dialectical differences and stuff like that. I love it.
I remember doing the "mental maps" project in Ling 112, where we had people fill in maps of the U.S. with their own ideas about how people spoke in different regions, and where those regions were... but this is different and also exciting. It's too bad that so many of the maps turn into population density maps in some places (i.e. <90% of respondents chose one answer, suddenly the regional differences are hard to see because the >10% who answered different are all but invisible... I didn't explain that very well. Sorry.)
