The garlic I planted is sprouting! Yay! Also, my dad is 64 years old today! Yay! And I got a phone call from my friend Sarah, who is hopefully no longer locked out of her car at the time of this writing. And I went to Wild Oats and bought a case of 80¢ Luna Bars, which will hopefully last for longer than a week, but um, yeah. And now I have a pot of Earl Grey Blue, and the special features of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension to watch. My cat is still really cute, and in general, life is good.

so what does one do with sprouted garlic or did you plant seeds? (things sprout in my apartment in about half the time it's supposed to take...)

I suppose it wasn't exactly clear in my original entry that I was referring to the garlic cloves I planted in the front yard a few weeks ago. It occurred to me after planting that maybe I should've waited for the cloves to sprout before planting them, but now I have at least four little garlic sprouts anyway, so huzzah!

I always plant cloves

and they grow strong and healthy. Trying to sprout them before planting them can be tricky.

As to what you can do with them??? green garlic works like green onions do! Super exciting!

Hmm. Maybe I should just cook with the sprouted head I just found in my Big Box O'Root Vegetables (TM), instead of breaking it up into cloves and planting it. But I am so excited by my little garlic sproutses outside! They are so cute! And pungent! And next to the rose bush, just like you advised! But I still have two more rose bushes that I'm sure would be happy to welcome little garlicky friends... oh, decisions, decisions!

You know, I didn't get a chance to ask about the differences between Earl Grey and Earl Grey-Blue. What is the difference?

Earl Grey Blue is like regular Earl Grey with a hint of vanilla, which makes it better for drinking with milk and sugar if you're in that kinda mood (and today, I am in just such a mood). Speaking of which, I need a refill. Mmm, tea.
