It took me over an hour to read the more than 100 entries posted since my last visit to LJ, and that was with a lot of skimming. Part of the problem is I can't resist posting comments, but sheesh! At times like this I want to edit my Friends list, or filter it somehow to at least skip over the groups, but in the end I know I'm always going to prefer more information to less, even if it's a big fat time suck. Okay, time to go home now (it still makes me happy to think of the new place as "home").

I've just set two groups up: people and groups. You can then go to livejournal.com/users/your username/people to get the people group (and /groups for the groups group). It's nice at work when I don't really want to have some of my more image-intensive groups up on my screen. And if you want to see all of the people & groups together, they still display in your normal friends list.

Hope this was informative instead of stuff you already knew about and just didn't like for some reason...

I've got a similar setup in place already, although I didn't know about the URL trick. Mostly I was just bemoaning my addiction to all the people and groups, even the ones that are boring sometimes, and how I can't seem to exercise the discipline to skip now and then.
