Kind of paltry overlap, but perhaps that just reflects the nature of my interests list. Still, I am touched.

I was actually thinking a few weeks ago of writing a script that would do this for everyone on livejournal instead of just your friends list. But then I realized that that would be a tremendously unethical waste of taxpayer-funded time.

LiveJournal had a feature like this, implemented server-side. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It used to be accessible through /interests.bml?mode=findsim_do. But it put too much load on the servers, so it was disabled. Until such time as someone figures out how to make it wizzardly fast.
